FRAGMENTA is an initiative to present contemporary art in the form of pop-up exhibitions in public spaces on the Maltese Islands. As a project space without a physical space, FRAGMENTA’s mission is to offer experiences in the form of artistic events, which happen in different locations in and around Malta, lasting for a maximum duration of 24 hours.

FRAGMENTA was founded in 2013 by Bettina Hutschek, who has since been curating and organizing events and exhibitions.

The exhibitions are born through a collaborative process between FRAGMENTA and the artist.

From 2013 to 2015, the events were produced by Bettina Hutschek. Between 2016 and 2018, FRAGMENTA was partly supported by the Valletta2018 Foundation and was part of the cultural program of Valletta, European Capital of Culture 2018.
